Jamie Skeen. We haven't heard that name in a long time. Sunday Skeen scored 21 points to lead the VCU Rams to a 79-63 win over George Mason University. The win puts the Rams just one game away from a conference championship and an automatic birth in the NCAA Tournament.
Skeen used to dominate at North Mecklenburg high school and played two seasons at Wake Forest before transferring to Virginia Commonwealth in 2009. While Skeen was at Wake Forest he averaged 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds a game. Now the senior forward is averaging 15.1 points and 7.6 rebounds for VCU.
The Rams play Old Dominion Monday night to earn their spot in the NCAA Tournament. It would be Skeen's first trip to the Big Dance and the Rams' first appearance since 2009.
